“Pilgrimage from Scattered Points”

“I have always been interested in event and issues that affect large groups of people simultaneously, and the collective response. The paintings in this series are austere and playful in equal measure, it’s a sort of conceptual portrait of any of us as we seek understanding in a world of contingencies. The work brings to mind ‘Revelation’, the dance piece by the Alvin Ailey Dance company - full of life and beautiful, while maintaining a strong social and political presence”.
