morrison_graphicFrank Morrison was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1971 and was reared in New Jersey, after moving there with his family at age nine. Immersed into the new urban culture, the youthful Morrison found creative expression in graffiti art and ‘break-dancing’. His skills and growing reputation as a break-dancer earned him gigs as a regular on the dance crew of the R & B star, Sybil and The Sugar Hill Gang. It was while dancing and touring Europe that he had the chance to visit The Louvre Museum in Paris. The experience profoundly affected the pre-adolescent graffiti artist and inspired him to choose painting as a career. Still in his teenage years, Morrison became a regular at New York galleries and museums. He devoted himself to developing his own expressive style and crafting a portfolio, then set out to market his work. He easily earned a publishing contract that introduced his work through a series of prints and helped to establish him as a household name.

Morrison’s work is steeped in old world values of family, community and religion, though typically rendered with mirth and high-spiritedness. The artist feels, he says, “tremendously blessed by the gifts of talent and family”, and the artist consistently acknowledges this by registering his “Thanks to God” with his trademark inscription “TTG” found in each of his work.

The artist has attracted an enthusiastic following and has become very popular with young collectors. Among the collectors of his work are Bill Cosby and New Orleans Senator, Gregory Tarver. The artist has earned numerous commissions and has illustrated over ten books, including “Queen of the Scene” with Queen Latifah.

The artist currently lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and four children.
