Lynn Marshall Linnemeier is an award-winning photo-based mixed media artist. She often incorporates photography, painting, and writing along with primary source documents in the form of diaries and letters to examine and define historical figures whose presence she finds compelling. An honors graduate of the Atlanta College of Art, Marshall-Linnemeier received an MA Degree in Southern Studies in 2005 from the University of Mississippi. Marshall-Linnemeier has received numerous awards including fellowships from Lila Wallace/Reader’s Digest-Arts International (New York) that took her to Adelaide, South Australia and the first Fulton County (Georgia) International Residency in Balgowan, South Africa. Her work is held in numerous collections including the High Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Jackson-Hartsfield International Airport. Marshall-Linnemeier is currently Visiting Professor of Mixed Media Painting and Sculpture at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She also teaches at Spelman College, in Atlanta. She is former professor of photography at Emory University and is a consultant to many community arts organizations including the Boys and Girls Clubs where she works with youngsters on mixed media photography projects. She serves on the Mayor’s Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) and serves on the boards of Hambidge and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA-GA).
